Narrative:

On termination of flight stl-ewr, sep/sun/93, we were taxiing into the gate. Upon entering the ramp, we saw a number of ramp personnel with lighted wands. Appropriate wing walkers and a marshaller began to guide us to the gate. I observed wing walker on my side and that it was clear. The captain was being guided by ground people when about 15 ft from jetway we contacted a catering truck with left wing, approximately 3 ft in from left wing tip. We never saw the catering truck. Marshaller in front of aircraft was giving us the come forward signal at time of impact, appropriate log entries were made.
