Narrative:

Cleared ILS runway 34R. Changed to a visual, WX good. We ended up flying side by side with a small commuter aircraft to 34L. Very close call as we each slightly overshot toward each other. The TCASII was going wild. It was an uncomfortable and unsafe approach! We are not trained to do close 'formation' approachs. When will I learn to reject these type approachs which are more and more common today? At the gate, many passenger seated on the left side questioned the safety of the approach. At some point in time the 'capacity versus safety' issues must tilt toward safety!
