Narrative:

Departure runway was changed just prior to pushback. Departure procedure originally did not include level off. During briefing on new SID, 7000 ft or below was missed. Result due to a climbing light aircraft with restr at 18 mi was exceeded. Departure control pointed altitude excursion out to me and shortly thereafter vectored me to transition fix. Nothing more said of incident. Later on in flight, received message that mode C of transponder needed to be corrected.
