Narrative:

I was coming in on an approach to southern illinois airport. As the landing gear came down, I heard an odd buffeting noise. I was told to go around for another approach. I retracted the gear and went around. The second time I lowered the gear, I did not hear any odd noises. As I touched down I heard a metal scraping or snapping sound. The aircraft continued to roll. I cleared the runway and taxied to the parking area. Before I arrived to the parking area, the nose gear collapsed. The propeller struck the ground and stopped the engine. I know I went through my checklist and left the gear lever down. I believe that maybe the gear locking pin snapped.
