Narrative:

This is an ongoing problem. I have reported this situation to NASA 3 times already. The dates are nov/X/91, jan/Y/92, and nov/Z/92. The nov/Z/92 report was about an aircraft hitting a deer and doing considerable damage to the aircraft. I did ask for feedback on the disposition of this problem but I never got a response from NASA. The deer have taken up residence on the airport. They are seen at dawn and just before sunset. Presently there are 15-18 deer on the airport. This situation is extremely dangerous to aircraft and crew when they land and takeoff from beverly at the above stated times. Something has to be done before someone is killed. A couple of deer were destroyed but that did not even put a dent in the problem. I suggest that a major effort be made to eliminate the herd. Local, state and federal officials should get together and devise a plan that would make sure that the deer do not interfere with air traffic. The only possible solution is to kill the deer. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that there is no fence protecting the airport from deer. There has been limited hunting allowed on airport property, but this has not rectified the problem to any extent. The deer keep coming back. In the past, there have been deer struck by aircraft, but no serious injuries except to the deer. Reporter was advised that a previous alert bulletin was issued on the same problem approximately 2 yrs ago. Reporter was advised to keep submitting reports when problem occurs. Reporter also mentioned that vehicles and people cross the runway without authority/authorized.

Title: CTLR CLAIMS THAT DEER ROAMING AROUND THE ARPT ARE DANGEROUS TO ACFT OPS.

Narrative: THIS IS AN ONGOING PROB. I HAVE RPTED THIS SIT TO NASA 3 TIMES ALREADY. THE DATES ARE NOV/X/91, JAN/Y/92, AND NOV/Z/92. THE NOV/Z/92 RPT WAS ABOUT AN ACFT HITTING A DEER AND DOING CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE ACFT. I DID ASK FOR FEEDBACK ON THE DISPOSITION OF THIS PROB BUT I NEVER GOT A RESPONSE FROM NASA. THE DEER HAVE TAKEN UP RESIDENCE ON THE ARPT. THEY ARE SEEN AT DAWN AND JUST BEFORE SUNSET. PRESENTLY THERE ARE 15-18 DEER ON THE ARPT. THIS SIT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO ACFT AND CREW WHEN THEY LAND AND TKOF FROM BEVERLY AT THE ABOVE STATED TIMES. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. A COUPLE OF DEER WERE DESTROYED BUT THAT DID NOT EVEN PUT A DENT IN THE PROB. I SUGGEST THAT A MAJOR EFFORT BE MADE TO ELIMINATE THE HERD. LCL, STATE AND FEDERAL OFFICIALS SHOULD GET TOGETHER AND DEVISE A PLAN THAT WOULD MAKE SURE THAT THE DEER DO NOT INTERFERE WITH AIR TFC. THE ONLY POSSIBLE SOLUTION IS TO KILL THE DEER. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT THERE IS NO FENCE PROTECTING THE ARPT FROM DEER. THERE HAS BEEN LIMITED HUNTING ALLOWED ON ARPT PROPERTY, BUT THIS HAS NOT RECTIFIED THE PROB TO ANY EXTENT. THE DEER KEEP COMING BACK. IN THE PAST, THERE HAVE BEEN DEER STRUCK BY ACFT, BUT NO SERIOUS INJURIES EXCEPT TO THE DEER. RPTR WAS ADVISED THAT A PREVIOUS ALERT BULLETIN WAS ISSUED ON THE SAME PROB APPROX 2 YRS AGO. RPTR WAS ADVISED TO KEEP SUBMITTING RPTS WHEN PROB OCCURS. RPTR ALSO MENTIONED THAT VEHICLES AND PEOPLE CROSS THE RWY WITHOUT AUTH.
