Narrative:

On a charter flight to mosstown exuma bahamas, we were unaware there was an operating control tower. This was my first time there and I thought it was an uncontrolled field. We announced our intentions, and position on frequency 122.8 only to find when we arrived on the ramp there was a tower in operation. There was not a traffic conflict, and the controller did not seem upset. He mentioned this happens often. As far as a solution, I feel ZMA should advise IFR aircraft arriving mosstown to contact tower frequency instead of just advising radar service terminated.
