Narrative:
While descending through 18000 ft to 12000 ft, I was given a 60 degree vector to my left. As I made the turn I noticed traffic at 10 O'clock which soon became a TA on my TCASII. As I continued the turn I had an RA which directed a 'climb.' I leveled at 20000 ft clear of traffic. I feel the controller gave me the vector in error without regard of the other traffic. I reported the incident to london ATC.
