Loss of right generator due to feeder fault. Descended to 25000 ft to attempt start of APU. Unable to start APU due to overtemping. Continued to destination washington national with only left generator pwring captain's flight instruments in VMC conditions, with the approval of dispatch and maintenance. Overflew suitable airport of richmond and greensboro due to not being company repair sites.
