Narrative:

On descent into stl, we received a TCASII TA. The target was at our 11 O'clock and below us. We visually acquired the aircraft at approximately 11 O'clock and 2 mi, crossing our nose left to right and appearing to be climbing through our altitude. At the same time, our TCASII directed a climb of approximately 1000 FPM. The PIC complied with the TCASII RA directive and we reported the traffic and altitude deviation to ATC. ATC answered our call, but I do not remember ATC pointing out the traffic prior to the conflict. If we hadn't acquired the aircraft via TCASII and visually, we would have crossed very close, both horizontally and vertically. I don't remember our exact position or altitude. The other aircraft was some type of bizjet.

Narrative: ON DSCNT INTO STL, WE RECEIVED A TCASII TA. THE TARGET WAS AT OUR 11 O'CLOCK AND BELOW US. WE VISUALLY ACQUIRED THE ACFT AT APPROX 11 O'CLOCK AND 2 MI, XING OUR NOSE L TO R AND APPEARING TO BE CLBING THROUGH OUR ALT. AT THE SAME TIME, OUR TCASII DIRECTED A CLB OF APPROX 1000 FPM. THE PIC COMPLIED WITH THE TCASII RA DIRECTIVE AND WE RPTED THE TFC AND ALTDEV TO ATC. ATC ANSWERED OUR CALL, BUT I DO NOT REMEMBER ATC POINTING OUT THE TFC PRIOR TO THE CONFLICT. IF WE HADN'T ACQUIRED THE ACFT VIA TCASII AND VISUALLY, WE WOULD HAVE CROSSED VERY CLOSE, BOTH HORIZLY AND VERTICALLY. I DON'T REMEMBER OUR EXACT POS OR ALT. THE OTHER ACFT WAS SOME TYPE OF BIZJET.
