Narrative:

Prior to pushback, received 'left wing body overheat.' maintenance signed off the write-up by putting the warning system on MEL. We taxied out and left the left engine bleed on in error. The MEL requires it to be off except for engine start. The light re-illuminated. We went back to gate and wrote up the light. Again, mostly caused by our error. Aircraft signed off again, stating that the light staying on was a 'normal' indication for a faulty system. We took the flight, but 10 mins into the flight, the light went out. This led us to believe that the system might have actually had a leak after all.

Title: FLC OF AN MLG ACR ACFT FAILED TO FOLLOW THE 'MEL' PROVISIONS COVERING AN ACFT EQUIP DISCREPANCY.

Narrative: PRIOR TO PUSHBACK, RECEIVED 'L WING BODY OVERHEAT.' MAINT SIGNED OFF THE WRITE-UP BY PUTTING THE WARNING SYS ON MEL. WE TAXIED OUT AND LEFT THE L ENG BLEED ON IN ERROR. ACFT SIGNED OFF AGAIN, STATING THAT THE LIGHT STAYING ON WAS A 'NORMAL' INDICATION FOR A FAULTY SYS. WE TOOK THE FLT, BUT 10 MINS INTO THE FLT, THE LIGHT WENT OUT. THIS LED US TO BELIEVE THAT THE SYS MIGHT HAVE ACTUALLY HAD A LEAK AFTER ALL.
