Narrative:

In summary: an air carrier light transport crew had a very difficult time with overworked controllers, congested frequencys, and thunderstorms trying to get into mia. A thunderstorm was over the field causing more than just the reporter's aircraft to go around. The reporting crew finally landed on another runway. A harried approach departure controller felt it was necessary to apologize for her handling of the reporting aircraft. The reporter believes that there were several ATC errors in vectoring and suggests that there should be more controllers and more frequencys available to them.
