Narrative:
Widebody transport with flight plan only mcw JVL2 ord climb to FL410 turned to a 120 degree heading for ord spacing 40 mi southwest of mcw out of FL398. Small transport at FL390 10 mi west of FOD wbound. I realized widebody transport's climb rate had slowed. I turned widebody transport to a 020 degree heading for traffic. Widebody transport was out of FL400 climbing to FL410, I also turned small transport 50 degrees left for traffic. I took over the sector 3 mins before the event. Better awareness in a slow sector would have helped!
