Narrative:

A student pilot departed livingston county airport for practice maneuvers. He returned to the airport and was practicing lndgs. He was doing touch-and-go's. On the 4TH landing he applied power to takeoff and the airplane started turning to the left. He said he applied right rudder pedal and nothing happened. He continued to the left until it went off the runway. When it hit the grass it continued turning left. He pulled the power back and applied the brakes as the plane hit the ditch. The nose gear collapsed and the right wing tip hit the other side of the ditch. The student was not injured. The problem arose because the student disobeyed the rules set by the instructor and flight school that state that student pilots cannot practice touch-and-go takeoff and lndgs solo. Things that could have caused the plane to turn left was the p-factor as power was applied. Or he could have hit the top left rudder pedal which would have applied the left brake. The winds were less than 5 KTS so I don't think that would be a factor.

Title: SPI LOSES CTL OF ACFT ON TOUCH AND GO AND SUFFERS RWY EXCURSION. ACFT DAMAGED.

Narrative: A STUDENT PLT DEPARTED LIVINGSTON COUNTY ARPT FOR PRACTICE MANEUVERS. HE RETURNED TO THE ARPT AND WAS PRACTICING LNDGS. HE WAS DOING TOUCH-AND-GO'S. ON THE 4TH LNDG HE APPLIED PWR TO TKOF AND THE AIRPLANE STARTED TURNING TO THE L. HE SAID HE APPLIED R RUDDER PEDAL AND NOTHING HAPPENED. HE CONTINUED TO THE L UNTIL IT WENT OFF THE RWY. WHEN IT HIT THE GRASS IT CONTINUED TURNING L. HE PULLED THE PWR BACK AND APPLIED THE BRAKES AS THE PLANE HIT THE DITCH. THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE R WING TIP HIT THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DITCH. THE STUDENT WAS NOT INJURED. THE PROB AROSE BECAUSE THE STUDENT DISOBEYED THE RULES SET BY THE INSTRUCTOR AND FLT SCHOOL THAT STATE THAT STUDENT PLTS CANNOT PRACTICE TOUCH-AND-GO TKOF AND LNDGS SOLO. THINGS THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE PLANE TO TURN L WAS THE P-FACTOR AS PWR WAS APPLIED. OR HE COULD HAVE HIT THE TOP L RUDDER PEDAL WHICH WOULD HAVE APPLIED THE L BRAKE. THE WINDS WERE LESS THAN 5 KTS SO I DON'T THINK THAT WOULD BE A FACTOR.
