While en route from buffalo to newark #1 communication went silent. Initial check in with ZOB was loud and clear. While approaching new york airspace multiple attempts with ZOB and ZBW were made. Altitude was maintained at 13000 ft. Communication was reestablished with new york approach over huguenot VOR. Descent and landing at newark were made with no further incident. Maintenance action was performed at ewr.

Narrative: WHILE ENRTE FROM BUFFALO TO NEWARK #1 COM WENT SILENT. INITIAL CHK IN WITH ZOB WAS LOUD AND CLR. WHILE APCHING NEW YORK AIRSPACE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS WITH ZOB AND ZBW WERE MADE. ALT WAS MAINTAINED AT 13000 FT. COM WAS REESTABLISHED WITH NEW YORK APCH OVER HUGUENOT VOR. DSCNT AND LNDG AT NEWARK WERE MADE WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT. MAINT ACTION WAS PERFORMED AT EWR.
