Narrative:

Practicing taxi and step taxi on a float plane. Only my second solo flight on floats. Got in a hurry and while transitioning to step, started a right turn into wind, around a corner of the lake. Got distracted by looking down at checklist. Lost directional control (probably released back pressure on stick). Nosed into water and struck left wing causing substantial damage to wing outside strut attachments. Taxied back to tie-down. Not used to float aircraft yet.
