Narrative:

In a descent to FL250, got a TCASII alert at about FL255. I (PNF) began looking visually for conflicting aircraft. The first officer (PF) fixated on the TCASII screen and did not level aircraft at FL250. We descended to about FL246 before climbing back to FL250. Perhaps it's not a good idea to mix new and old technology. Ie, a TCASII that demands your attention and an autoplt that's incapable of capturing an altitude.
