Narrative:

Medium large transport upper wing ice formed due to fuel cold-soak. No glycol at airport. Local air carrier possessed no fluid as well. Jet engine the airport used to clear runway was inoperative. So, had russian ground crew spray wings with hot water then immediately sprayed 25 bottles of russian vodka on top of wings via garden sprayer. Wings were subsequently checked. They were clear of ice. Normal takeoff. Supplemental information from acn 244093: the dispatcher was not advised nor involved in any decisions during this process. First knowledge was gained during airborne phone patch via arinc/hnl after departing magadan (uhmm).

Title: AN UNUSUAL 'SOLUTION' TO AN MLG PREFLT PROC DEICING PROB N THE GND IN RUSSIA. AIRLINE OPERATIONAL PROC WITH A 'NEW TWIST.'

Narrative: MLG UPPER WING ICE FORMED DUE TO FUEL COLD-SOAK. NO GLYCOL AT ARPT. LCL ACR POSSESSED NO FLUID AS WELL. JET ENG THE ARPT USED TO CLR RWY WAS INOP. SO, HAD RUSSIAN GND CREW SPRAY WINGS WITH HOT WATER THEN IMMEDIATELY SPRAYED 25 BOTTLES OF RUSSIAN VODKA ON TOP OF WINGS VIA GARDEN SPRAYER. WINGS WERE SUBSEQUENTLY CHKED. THEY WERE CLR OF ICE. NORMAL TKOF. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 244093: THE DISPATCHER WAS NOT ADVISED NOR INVOLVED IN ANY DECISIONS DURING THIS PROCESS. FIRST KNOWLEDGE WAS GAINED DURING AIRBORNE PHONE PATCH VIA ARINC/HNL AFTER DEPARTING MAGADAN (UHMM).
