Narrative:

Upon initiating a go around, the instructor added full power and began retracting flaps not knowing the student would pull up on the controls. With the loss of airspeed and increased stall speed as the flaps were retracting from 30 degrees to 20 degrees, the aircraft stalled with no warning. Flow strips on all trainers may prevent a recurrence. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporting instructor states that the aircraft was 'totaled' by the insurance company. A report was made to the NTSB. The only injuries were 'a little whiplash.' the FAA has not proceeded against the reporting instructor.
