Narrative:

Due to low clouds surrounding airport and rising terrain on all but one side of airport, I elected to make a nonstandard entry into the pattern in the interest of safety. Contributing factors: low clouds. Too many pilots, not enough jobs. Laws that allow cargo operations to airports without any official way to determine flight condition.
