Narrative:

We had been cleared FMS quiet bridge visual runway 28R at sfo. We were approaching the 6.0 DME sfo at san mateo bridge when sfo approach asked us if we saw an large transport high over san francisco bay. We said we had a visual on the flight. Large transport was cleared for a visual to runway 28R and we were told to change runway to 28L. At this time I planned to fly over the san mateo bridge because of the noise sensitive land area and then make a slight left turn to line up with runway 28L. I thought that the large transport flight would space his aircraft behind and to the right of us. About the time we were crossing the bridge, the large transport flight was closing very fast and was in a right bank and still had his gear up. I had gear down and 20 degrees flaps. I realized I was now in large transport's airspace. At this point I made a sharp left descending turn heading south along the bridge toward the shore line. The copilot who could see large transport closing very rapidly said, 'let's get out of here!' we also had an RA threat on the TCASII display and aural warning. I made a missed approach. We went around and landed on 28R 10 mins later. I think the only solution is that sfo approach should have cleared large transport flight to follow us. A much better solution would be to forget about noise abatement and shoot straight-in approachs. Supplemental information from acn 241449: abeam each other our final separation becomes nil.

Title: WDB AND LGT HAVE NMAC AS BOTH OF THEM FLY THE SAME VISUAL APCH TO SFO.

Narrative: WE HAD BEEN CLRED FMS QUIET BRIDGE VISUAL RWY 28R AT SFO. WE WERE APCHING THE 6.0 DME SFO AT SAN MATEO BRIDGE WHEN SFO APCH ASKED US IF WE SAW AN LGT HIGH OVER SAN FRANCISCO BAY. WE SAID WE HAD A VISUAL ON THE FLT. LGT WAS CLRED FOR A VISUAL TO RWY 28R AND WE WERE TOLD TO CHANGE RWY TO 28L. AT THIS TIME I PLANNED TO FLY OVER THE SAN MATEO BRIDGE BECAUSE OF THE NOISE SENSITIVE LAND AREA AND THEN MAKE A SLIGHT L TURN TO LINE UP WITH RWY 28L. I THOUGHT THAT THE LGT FLT WOULD SPACE HIS ACFT BEHIND AND TO THE R OF US. ABOUT THE TIME WE WERE XING THE BRIDGE, THE LGT FLT WAS CLOSING VERY FAST AND WAS IN A R BANK AND STILL HAD HIS GEAR UP. I HAD GEAR DOWN AND 20 DEGS FLAPS. I REALIZED I WAS NOW IN LGT'S AIRSPACE. AT THIS POINT I MADE A SHARP L DSNDING TURN HDG S ALONG THE BRIDGE TOWARD THE SHORE LINE. THE COPLT WHO COULD SEE LGT CLOSING VERY RAPIDLY SAID, 'LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!' WE ALSO HAD AN RA THREAT ON THE TCASII DISPLAY AND AURAL WARNING. I MADE A MISSED APCH. WE WENT AROUND AND LANDED ON 28R 10 MINS LATER. I THINK THE ONLY SOLUTION IS THAT SFO APCH SHOULD HAVE CLRED LGT FLT TO FOLLOW US. A MUCH BETTER SOLUTION WOULD BE TO FORGET ABOUT NOISE ABATEMENT AND SHOOT STRAIGHT-IN APCHS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 241449: ABEAM EACH OTHER OUR FINAL SEPARATION BECOMES NIL.
