Narrative:

In cruise, 2 aircraft approximately 500 below us were observed performing combat maneuvers 1 mi west of V267 centerline. The controling ATC was not aware of their presence. I made an unauthorized 500 ft altitude deviation that lasted under 60 seconds. It would have helped if the 'combat' aircraft talked to ATC.

Title: LTT CLBS ABOVE ASSIGNED ALT TO AVOID 2 ACFT FLYING COMBAT MANEUVERS ON THE AIRWAY.

Narrative: IN CRUISE, 2 ACFT APPROX 500 BELOW US WERE OBSERVED PERFORMING COMBAT MANEUVERS 1 MI W OF V267 CTRLINE. THE CTLING ATC WAS NOT AWARE OF THEIR PRESENCE. I MADE AN UNAUTH 500 FT ALTDEV THAT LASTED UNDER 60 SECONDS. IT WOULD HAVE HELPED IF THE 'COMBAT' ACFT TALKED TO ATC.
