Narrative:

We received a TCASII alert and then a TCASII command to descend at 2000 FPM. At FL226 I saw an air carrier widebody transport at 1 O'clock. We held at FL226 until clear of the widebody transport then climbed back to FL230. ZJX was told of the alert. Center asked if we had to descend and I said yes. We then climbed back to FL230. We first saw the target 3 mi on TCASII as 1400 ft (descending). That is the last time we keyed on TCASII target altitude. I was visual and the PF was concentrating on TCASII rate commands after that.
