Narrative:

On may/xx/93 the temporary military TRACON servicing row lost its radar for about 5 mins. There was only 1 airplane at the time, but if there were more aircraft this could have been a disastrous situation, considering that the military is not familiar with the area and has little or no experience with non radar. The radar went down twice more that day, once at XA45 am and again at XA53 am for a total of about 2 hours. Since military controllers are not familiar with the airspace or backup procedures, this is a very dangerous situation.

Title: TEMPORARY MIL TRACON EQUIP PROB RADAR FAILED.

Narrative: ON MAY/XX/93 THE TEMPORARY MIL TRACON SVCING ROW LOST ITS RADAR FOR ABOUT 5 MINS. THERE WAS ONLY 1 AIRPLANE AT THE TIME, BUT IF THERE WERE MORE ACFT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A DISASTROUS SIT, CONSIDERING THAT THE MIL IS NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA AND HAS LITTLE OR NO EXPERIENCE WITH NON RADAR. THE RADAR WENT DOWN TWICE MORE THAT DAY, ONCE AT XA45 AM AND AGAIN AT XA53 AM FOR A TOTAL OF ABOUT 2 HRS. SINCE MIL CTLRS ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE AIRSPACE OR BACKUP PROCS, THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SIT.
