Narrative:

Controller advised of VFR traffic at 12 O'clock and closing. He was supposed to be at 7500 ft but my TCASII showed him at 7900 ft. As the TCASII advisory began, I advised TRACON that I was climbing to evade. Level off was at 8500 ft followed by subsequent descent. (No conflict was created by my deviation.) the VFR pilot, when queried by the controller, said he was 'just wandering around.' (on the edge of the TCA.)
