Narrative:

I was first officer on flight dfw-bos. In cruise at FL290, TCASII gave TA, traffic at 12 O'clock, 10 mi showed 900 ft below our altitude. Approximately 5 seconds later, TCASII gave RA requiring climb of plus or minus 1200 FPM. Initiated climb. Maximum altitude plus or minus 29400 ft. Returned to FL290 when RA satisfied. Controllers issued traffic before TA or RA but we did not have traffic in sight. Procedures require us to follow RA's.
