Narrative:

Flight gjt-den during takeoff phase of flight, gear up was selected and nose gear did not retract. At this point, the flight attendant, passenger, company operations were notified of a return for landing at gjt. Upon receiving a clearance, landed aircraft, taxied to the gate, and shut down #1, #2, and #3 engines. Ground personnel notified captain that the nose gear safety pole was extended. The nose gear safety pole was retracted by ground personnel and the flight was resumed. Preflight inspection was seen and observed to be performed by captain. Captain was also observed to have walked past the nose of aircraft 2 times.

Title: COMMUTER FLT UNABLE RETRACT GEAR, RETURN LAND.

Narrative: FLT GJT-DEN DURING TKOF PHASE OF FLT, GEAR UP WAS SELECTED AND NOSE GEAR DID NOT RETRACT. AT THIS POINT, THE FLT ATTENDANT, PAX, COMPANY OPS WERE NOTIFIED OF A RETURN FOR LNDG AT GJT. UPON RECEIVING A CLRNC, LANDED ACFT, TAXIED TO THE GATE, AND SHUT DOWN #1, #2, AND #3 ENGS. GND PERSONNEL NOTIFIED CAPT THAT THE NOSE GEAR SAFETY POLE WAS EXTENDED. THE NOSE GEAR SAFETY POLE WAS RETRACTED BY GND PERSONNEL AND THE FLT WAS RESUMED. PREFLT INSPECTION WAS SEEN AND OBSERVED TO BE PERFORMED BY CAPT. CAPT WAS ALSO OBSERVED TO HAVE WALKED PAST THE NOSE OF ACFT 2 TIMES.
