Narrative:

At 11000 MSL altitude on IFR flight plan from gok to mlu about 15 mi southeast of mlc. I noticed my left engine RPM gauge reading '0.' I asked ft worth controller to vector me to closest airport and cancel IFR. I landed safely at mlc. On the ground, I called ft worth controller and told that we were safe on the ground. I had mechanic look at the left engine. The engine was fine, only the gauge was mis-reading. The mechanic fixed it and we took off again and re-opened IFR flight plan again with ZFW to mlu.
