Narrative:

Pvd approach cleared us for ILS 5R at pvd. Intercepted localizer just at final approach fix and began descent to decision ht. NDB bearing showed approximately localizer course. Both localizer CDI needles went full scale deflection while NDB course showed still on track. Commenced missed approach at approximately 1200 ft MSL. Notified tower of go around. Re-vectored for ILS 5R approach and landing were normal. An aircraft had been cleared for takeoff prior to our first landing attempt. This could have disrupted localizer indications.
