Narrative:

During takeoff roll, the takeoff warning horn sounded. The takeoff was aborted and we proceeded to the runup pad to runup the engines to determine why the horn went off. We ran the engines up but the horn did ot sound. We tried a takeoff again, but again, the warning horn sounded and the takeoff was aborted. When we exited the runway, we determined the flaps were set at 1 degree instead of 5 degrees. The aircraft was an medium large transport- a and the automated weight and balance stated 5 degrees was needed. I rapidly checked the takeoff speeds without reference to flap setting because 2 days earlier we were in a an medium large transport-B and used flaps 1 degree for takeoff. I was thinking medium large transport-B instead of medium large transport-a. Complacency and the time of day (i.e., dark cockpit, flying a re-eye) combined to present a somewhat hazardous situation. I should take my time and make sure things are right, not be in a hurry, and double check everything.

Title: AN ACR MLG CREW ABORTED 2 TKOFS BECAUSE THEY HAD THE WRONG FLAP SETTING.

Narrative: DURING TKOF ROLL, THE TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED. THE TKOF WAS ABORTED AND WE PROCEEDED TO THE RUNUP PAD TO RUNUP THE ENGS TO DETERMINE WHY THE HORN WENT OFF. WE RAN THE ENGS UP BUT THE HORN DID OT SOUND. WE TRIED A TKOF AGAIN, BUT AGAIN, THE WARNING HORN SOUNDED AND THE TKOF WAS ABORTED. WHEN WE EXITED THE RWY, WE DETERMINED THE FLAPS WERE SET AT 1 DEG INSTEAD OF 5 DEGS. THE ACFT WAS AN MLG- A AND THE AUTOMATED WT AND BAL STATED 5 DEGS WAS NEEDED. I RAPIDLY CHKED THE TKOF SPDS WITHOUT REF TO FLAP SETTING BECAUSE 2 DAYS EARLIER WE WERE IN A AN MLG-B AND USED FLAPS 1 DEG FOR TKOF. I WAS THINKING MLG-B INSTEAD OF MLG-A. COMPLACENCY AND THE TIME OF DAY (I.E., DARK COCKPIT, FLYING A RE-EYE) COMBINED TO PRESENT A SOMEWHAT HAZARDOUS SIT. I SHOULD TAKE MY TIME AND MAKE SURE THINGS ARE RIGHT, NOT BE IN A HURRY, AND DOUBLE CHK EVERYTHING.
