Narrative:

Aircraft on maintenance reposition flight. Aircraft mechanic as passenger. On climb out of cvg, mechanic tapped me on shoulder to point out mist in cabin. Overshot assigned altitude by 300 ft. Told tower of smoke in cabin area and requested return for landing. Emergency equipment was dispatched even though no emergency was declared. Mist dissipated very quickly after it was noted. Cause was unburned fuel purged into bleed air line. No further action required.

Title: RETURN LAND MANDATED BY MIST SMOKE IN CABIN OF LTT.

Narrative: ACFT ON MAINT REPOSITION FLT. ACFT MECH AS PAX. ON CLBOUT OF CVG, MECH TAPPED ME ON SHOULDER TO POINT OUT MIST IN CABIN. OVERSHOT ASSIGNED ALT BY 300 FT. TOLD TWR OF SMOKE IN CABIN AREA AND REQUESTED RETURN FOR LNDG. EMER EQUIP WAS DISPATCHED EVEN THOUGH NO EMER WAS DECLARED. MIST DISSIPATED VERY QUICKLY AFTER IT WAS NOTED. CAUSE WAS UNBURNED FUEL PURGED INTO BLEED AIR LINE. NO FURTHER ACTION REQUIRED.
