Narrative:

At commencement of takeoff roll, a strong vibration began before reaching the center of the runway. Since another aircraft was in the pattern, I attempted to exit the runway at the next taxiway. Prior to reaching the taxiway the nose gear on my fixed gear small aircraft collapsed and the propeller struck the runway. No injuries were suffered, but the aircraft was damaged in this incident. Marks on the runway suggest the propeller was contacting the runway some 200 plus ft before the gear completely collapsed. The aircraft's last annual inspection was 1.9 hours prior to incident. Incident was reported to FAA.
