Narrative:
5 mlt's in IFR pattern. Because of poor radios at approach, mlt X took the turn of the other tanker, call signs were not similar, and end up nose to nose with mlt Y on the right base. For corrective action: fix the radios.

Title: ATC EQUIP PROB RADIO MIL X TOOK TURN MEANT FOR ANOTHER ACFT HAD POSSIBLE LTSS FROM MIL Y. PLTDEV.
Narrative: 5 MLT'S IN IFR PATTERN. BECAUSE OF POOR RADIOS AT APCH, MLT X TOOK THE TURN OF THE OTHER TANKER, CALL SIGNS WERE NOT SIMILAR, AND END UP NOSE TO NOSE WITH MLT Y ON THE R BASE. FOR CORRECTIVE ACTION: FIX THE RADIOS.
