Narrative:

Air carrier X on approach to charlotte, nc. Approach control had cleared us to sophe OM on runway 36L ILS, altitude 4000 ft and cleared to 3000 ft. TCASII called traffic at our 3 O'clock position, 800 ft below us. As we descended to 3000 ft, I began to notice our descent would conflict with the traffic. At approximately 3400 ft, we received an RA from TCASII to climb. We climbed as directed and the conflict ended. We descended back to 3000 ft and continued on the ILS approach with no problems. ATC advised the aircraft Y had a visual on us, but we were unable to obtain a visual.
