Narrative:

Encountered turbulence in the form of a heavy jolt, preceded by a short rumble while in cruise at 310 KTS 10-15 mi north of allegre, cuba. Whole encounter lasted no more than 5 seconds, in the clear with nothing on radar. Passenger buckled in with 'seat belt sign on' because had previously navigated around low rain showers over the island. At first sign of turbulence, requested flight attendants be seated over PA. Chief purser reported injuries and after sending so back to confirm situation, dispatch notified to have medical aid available on landing. Expeditious approach and landing followed.

Narrative: ENCOUNTERED TURB IN THE FORM OF A HVY JOLT, PRECEDED BY A SHORT RUMBLE WHILE IN CRUISE AT 310 KTS 10-15 MI N OF ALLEGRE, CUBA. WHOLE ENCOUNTER LASTED NO MORE THAN 5 SECONDS, IN THE CLR WITH NOTHING ON RADAR. PAX BUCKLED IN WITH 'SEAT BELT SIGN ON' BECAUSE HAD PREVIOUSLY NAVIGATED AROUND LOW RAIN SHOWERS OVER THE ISLAND. AT FIRST SIGN OF TURB, REQUESTED FLT ATTENDANTS BE SEATED OVER PA. CHIEF PURSER RPTED INJURIES AND AFTER SENDING SO BACK TO CONFIRM SIT, DISPATCH NOTIFIED TO HAVE MEDICAL AID AVAILABLE ON LNDG. EXPEDITIOUS APCH AND LNDG FOLLOWED.
