Narrative:

Scheduled air carrier flight. En route from flint, mi, to chicago O'hare, cruising at 6000 ft MSL, 20 NM wsw of lansing VOR on V84, experienced in-flight engine failure of the left engine. The WX was VFR. Appropriate checklists completed, attempted an in-flight restart to no avail. Diverted to lansing, mi. Shot the ILS 10R approach into VFR conditions at lansing, the approach and landing were normal and uneventful. Excellent handling by all ATC facilities. The engine failure was overall uneventful.
