Narrative:

Myself and another pilot (the captain) were to pick up an aircraft from maintenance at nashville. All checks were completed and we departed. On takeoff, gear was selected up but stayed in transit. Both hydraulic pumps on the small transport showed 0 pressure when they were normal just before. We declared an emergency and flew a few delaying patterns to run all checklists. We also, after selecting the gear down and getting 3 green, did a fly by the tower to visually inspect the gear. At this point, 1 pump showed normal pressure while the other was at 0 psi. We told the tower controller that we would stop on the runway and made the landing. Just before the landing, both pumps showed normal pressure. On stopping the aircraft on the runway, the maintenance department came out and put gear pins in the landing gear and taxied it in. Inspection of the aircraft found that the system had much air in it. Tighter control on the equipment used by maintenance might help.

Title: AN SMT CREW HAD A HYD FAILURE ON TKOF CAUSING A LITTLE CONCERN ABOUT THE LNDG GEAR BEING DOWN AND LOCKED.

Narrative: MYSELF AND ANOTHER PLT (THE CAPT) WERE TO PICK UP AN ACFT FROM MAINT AT NASHVILLE. ALL CHKS WERE COMPLETED AND WE DEPARTED. ON TKOF, GEAR WAS SELECTED UP BUT STAYED IN TRANSIT. BOTH HYD PUMPS ON THE SMT SHOWED 0 PRESSURE WHEN THEY WERE NORMAL JUST BEFORE. WE DECLARED AN EMER AND FLEW A FEW DELAYING PATTERNS TO RUN ALL CHKLISTS. WE ALSO, AFTER SELECTING THE GEAR DOWN AND GETTING 3 GREEN, DID A FLY BY THE TWR TO VISUALLY INSPECT THE GEAR. AT THIS POINT, 1 PUMP SHOWED NORMAL PRESSURE WHILE THE OTHER WAS AT 0 PSI. WE TOLD THE TWR CTLR THAT WE WOULD STOP ON THE RWY AND MADE THE LNDG. JUST BEFORE THE LNDG, BOTH PUMPS SHOWED NORMAL PRESSURE. ON STOPPING THE ACFT ON THE RWY, THE MAINT DEPT CAME OUT AND PUT GEAR PINS IN THE LNDG GEAR AND TAXIED IT IN. INSPECTION OF THE ACFT FOUND THAT THE SYS HAD MUCH AIR IN IT. TIGHTER CTL ON THE EQUIP USED BY MAINT MIGHT HELP.
