Narrative:

Cleared to land runway 22 to expect exiting runway 22 at taxiway B. After touchdown, while taxiing to B, tower issued instructions to hold short of runway 26L. Tower issued landing clearance to a following aircraft to land runway 22 so I hurried to B to clear the runway. When I did so, I crossed onto runway 26L overrun just as cga Y rotated for takeoff on runway 26L. I did not see any airport markings denoting runway 26L at that intersection. I talked to tower controller by telephone and suggested that the confusion would have been prevented if the hold short clearance would have included the information that remaining on the active runway 22 would be necessary. Also, runway 26L markings should be improved and ATIS information concerning anticipated hold short instructions would give pilots time to study airport diagrams prior to landing. Normally, a pilot will exit an active runway as soon as possible when he knows another aircraft is landing close behind. Then stop when clear and review the airport diagram before proceeding. Without the knowledge that runway 22/26L intersection and taxiway B were at the same point, I made the incursion on runway 26L. Contributing factor: many txwys near the intersection were under construction with barriers and piles of debris blocking view of runway 26L pavement. Supplemental information from acn 232793: while on landing roll we were told to exit taxiway B, hold short of the overrun of runway 26 for departing traffic.

Title: MLG FLC CROSSED THE RWY 26L OVERRUN AFTER BEING TOLD BY TWR TO HOLD SHORT OF IT.

Narrative: CLRED TO LAND RWY 22 TO EXPECT EXITING RWY 22 AT TXWY B. AFTER TOUCHDOWN, WHILE TAXIING TO B, TWR ISSUED INSTRUCTIONS TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 26L. TWR ISSUED LNDG CLRNC TO A FOLLOWING ACFT TO LAND RWY 22 SO I HURRIED TO B TO CLR THE RWY. WHEN I DID SO, I CROSSED ONTO RWY 26L OVERRUN JUST AS CGA Y ROTATED FOR TKOF ON RWY 26L. I DID NOT SEE ANY ARPT MARKINGS DENOTING RWY 26L AT THAT INTXN. I TALKED TO TWR CTLR BY TELEPHONE AND SUGGESTED THAT THE CONFUSION WOULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED IF THE HOLD SHORT CLRNC WOULD HAVE INCLUDED THE INFO THAT REMAINING ON THE ACTIVE RWY 22 WOULD BE NECESSARY. ALSO, RWY 26L MARKINGS SHOULD BE IMPROVED AND ATIS INFO CONCERNING ANTICIPATED HOLD SHORT INSTRUCTIONS WOULD GIVE PLTS TIME TO STUDY ARPT DIAGRAMS PRIOR TO LNDG. NORMALLY, A PLT WILL EXIT AN ACTIVE RWY ASAP WHEN HE KNOWS ANOTHER ACFT IS LNDG CLOSE BEHIND. THEN STOP WHEN CLR AND REVIEW THE ARPT DIAGRAM BEFORE PROCEEDING. WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE THAT RWY 22/26L INTXN AND TXWY B WERE AT THE SAME POINT, I MADE THE INCURSION ON RWY 26L. CONTRIBUTING FACTOR: MANY TXWYS NEAR THE INTXN WERE UNDER CONSTRUCTION WITH BARRIERS AND PILES OF DEBRIS BLOCKING VIEW OF RWY 26L PAVEMENT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 232793: WHILE ON LNDG ROLL WE WERE TOLD TO EXIT TXWY B, HOLD SHORT OF THE OVERRUN OF RWY 26 FOR DEPARTING TFC.
