Narrative:

French ATC cleared us to descend from FL310 to FL250. Going through FL295, received a TA on TCASII, then RA to stop descent, climb. Initiated a climb in accordance with FARS and company policy, climbed back to FL300. After RA, descended to clearance altitude FL250. French ATC questioned our actions and did not seem to be briefed on TCASII procedures.

Narrative: FRENCH ATC CLRED US TO DSND FROM FL310 TO FL250. GOING THROUGH FL295, RECEIVED A TA ON TCASII, THEN RA TO STOP DSCNT, CLB. INITIATED A CLB IN ACCORDANCE WITH FARS AND COMPANY POLICY, CLBED BACK TO FL300. AFTER RA, DSNDED TO CLRNC ALT FL250. FRENCH ATC QUESTIONED OUR ACTIONS AND DID NOT SEEM TO BE BRIEFED ON TCASII PROCS.
