Narrative:

While proceeding into crestview, fl, field, I was informed by jax ATC that I may have violated a TCA somewhere along my route of flight but refused to tell me which one, and requested that I give them my name, certificate number, and telephone number. I departed fll on a VFR arsa clearance at 6.5 mi. My route of flight was fll direct lbv V97 pie V35 cty V295 tlh V198 cew. As I proceeded from lbv to pie, I requested a handoff for VFR flight following, but was informed by mia that tampa was too busy to handle me. As I approached the tampa bay area, it became necessary for me to descend from my original 6500 ft, down to 4500 ft in order to remain VFR. As I proceeded north of the pie/tampa area, I was able to get VFR flight following from ATC and between tlh and cew was asked for my credentials by ATC and informed that I may have violated a TCA but refused to tell me which one which would have given me the opportunity to call on a landline to try to correct the situation. In fact, when I landed for fuel at cew and filed my IFR flight plan to aus, I attempted to get a landline number to call to no avail. My remaining 3 legs from cew-aus-las were on an IFR flight plan. I believe had I been able to obtain VFR flight following for my entire route from fll to cew, this incident would never have occurred. The most frustrating part for me was my inability to communicate with someone by landline to at least find out what specific area I violated.

Title: SMT UNABLE TO OBTAIN FLT FOLLOWING ACCUSED OF PENETRATING TCA.

Narrative: WHILE PROCEEDING INTO CRESTVIEW, FL, FIELD, I WAS INFORMED BY JAX ATC THAT I MAY HAVE VIOLATED A TCA SOMEWHERE ALONG MY RTE OF FLT BUT REFUSED TO TELL ME WHICH ONE, AND REQUESTED THAT I GIVE THEM MY NAME, CERTIFICATE NUMBER, AND TELEPHONE NUMBER. I DEPARTED FLL ON A VFR ARSA CLRNC AT 6.5 MI. MY RTE OF FLT WAS FLL DIRECT LBV V97 PIE V35 CTY V295 TLH V198 CEW. AS I PROCEEDED FROM LBV TO PIE, I REQUESTED A HDOF FOR VFR FLT FOLLOWING, BUT WAS INFORMED BY MIA THAT TAMPA WAS TOO BUSY TO HANDLE ME. AS I APCHED THE TAMPA BAY AREA, IT BECAME NECESSARY FOR ME TO DSND FROM MY ORIGINAL 6500 FT, DOWN TO 4500 FT IN ORDER TO REMAIN VFR. AS I PROCEEDED N OF THE PIE/TAMPA AREA, I WAS ABLE TO GET VFR FLT FOLLOWING FROM ATC AND BTWN TLH AND CEW WAS ASKED FOR MY CREDENTIALS BY ATC AND INFORMED THAT I MAY HAVE VIOLATED A TCA BUT REFUSED TO TELL ME WHICH ONE WHICH WOULD HAVE GIVEN ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO CALL ON A LANDLINE TO TRY TO CORRECT THE SITUATION. IN FACT, WHEN I LANDED FOR FUEL AT CEW AND FILED MY IFR FLT PLAN TO AUS, I ATTEMPTED TO GET A LANDLINE NUMBER TO CALL TO NO AVAIL. MY REMAINING 3 LEGS FROM CEW-AUS-LAS WERE ON AN IFR FLT PLAN. I BELIEVE HAD I BEEN ABLE TO OBTAIN VFR FLT FOLLOWING FOR MY ENTIRE RTE FROM FLL TO CEW, THIS INCIDENT WOULD NEVER HAVE OCCURRED. THE MOST FRUSTRATING PART FOR ME WAS MY INABILITY TO COMMUNICATE WITH SOMEONE BY LANDLINE TO AT LEAST FIND OUT WHAT SPECIFIC AREA I VIOLATED.
