Narrative:

Landed on 28L, and exited runway at C3 and stopped on V to hold short of the end of 28C. The tower then instructed to switch to ground control. Ground control said 'cleared to the gate via C2 and D.' I proceeded across 28C thinking that C2 was a new ramp taxiway and I could rechk its location after crossing the runway. The ground then said I had crossed an active runway. The ground controller obviously didn't know my location. The aircraft was a widebody transport and there was not enough space on taxiway V to do a 180 degree turn to get to C2. The taxiways at the new pittsburgh terminal have been renamed several times and the airport charts have been wrong. Suggest that tower issue 'hold short' instructions after/during landing. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that there was no traffic inbound to runway 28C. The FAA has not yet contacted him, and since 5 weeks have passed, he believes that they will not. Taxiways C2 and D were not on the commercial airport page that he had at the time of the incident, and they are both new with the new terminal. Taxiway, runway and terminal markings are all better now than they were when the new terminal first opened. The reporter is convinced that the ground controller did not know where the reporting aircraft was when the controller issued a clearance to a taxi routing that was behind the aircraft.

Title: AN ACR WDB CROSSED AN ACTIVE RWY AT PIT WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: LANDED ON 28L, AND EXITED RWY AT C3 AND STOPPED ON V TO HOLD SHORT OF THE END OF 28C. THE TWR THEN INSTRUCTED TO SWITCH TO GND CTL. GND CTL SAID 'CLRED TO THE GATE VIA C2 AND D.' I PROCEEDED ACROSS 28C THINKING THAT C2 WAS A NEW RAMP TAXIWAY AND I COULD RECHK ITS LOCATION AFTER XING THE RWY. THE GND THEN SAID I HAD CROSSED AN ACTIVE RWY. THE GND CTLR OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T KNOW MY LOCATION. THE ACFT WAS A WDB AND THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON TAXIWAY V TO DO A 180 DEG TURN TO GET TO C2. THE TAXIWAYS AT THE NEW PITTSBURGH TERMINAL HAVE BEEN RENAMED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE ARPT CHARTS HAVE BEEN WRONG. SUGGEST THAT TWR ISSUE 'HOLD SHORT' INSTRUCTIONS AFTER/DURING LNDG. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT THERE WAS NO TFC INBOUND TO RWY 28C. THE FAA HAS NOT YET CONTACTED HIM, AND SINCE 5 WKS HAVE PASSED, HE BELIEVES THAT THEY WILL NOT. TAXIWAYS C2 AND D WERE NOT ON THE COMMERCIAL ARPT PAGE THAT HE HAD AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, AND THEY ARE BOTH NEW WITH THE NEW TERMINAL. TAXIWAY, RWY AND TERMINAL MARKINGS ARE ALL BETTER NOW THAN THEY WERE WHEN THE NEW TERMINAL FIRST OPENED. THE RPTR IS CONVINCED THAT THE GND CTLR DID NOT KNOW WHERE THE RPTING ACFT WAS WHEN THE CTLR ISSUED A CLRNC TO A TAXI ROUTING THAT WAS BEHIND THE ACFT.
