Narrative:
There is a large amount of interference on our ATC frequencys from local radio stations. The problem has become worse recently, and I believe it is from over-modulation. This results in our control instructions being blocked or misunderstood. This has caused numerous problems with pilot/controller confusion and unnecessary duplicate xmissions contributing to work stressloads during busy moments. This problem has also manifested itself in the frequencys used by jackson international, but to a lesser extent due to their location outside the city. Frequencys involved are: hks frequencys: 120.0 local control, 121.9 ground control. Jan approach frequency: 125.25 west, 123.9 east, 119.05 final. Jan frequencys: 120.9 local control, 121.7 ground control.
