Narrative:

I was flying my small aircraft with a friend from italy. We were taking pictures of the leaf color which they do not have in italy. Oct/sun/92 was the full color wkend and it was gorgeous. I took off from mt pocono airport, mt pocono, PA, and headed toward the allentown area after climbing to 4500 ft, the roof of the allentown control. We hunted along the ridge for best color taking pictures. I didn't contact approach control because I didn't think I wandered into the control airspace, so much was our interest in taking pictures. Since the mountain ridge is quite a distance from the air park, and since the sunday afternoon seemed free of any other planes, my interest was mostly with hunting for special leaf color, still thinking I was at proper altitude since I did not purposely go lower. I got back to wings field where I am stationed and was notified on landing that I should call the allentown airport and ask for TRACON supervisor. I did so immediately and was astounded when told I was at 2800 ft in the allentown area. He asked my name and address and would write me. In aug/92 my plane was broken into. Because of the above altitude anomaly, I will have my altimeter checked.

Title: UNAUTHORIZED PENETRATION OF AIRSPACE. PROX OF ARSA.

Narrative: I WAS FLYING MY SMA WITH A FRIEND FROM ITALY. WE WERE TAKING PICTURES OF THE LEAF COLOR WHICH THEY DO NOT HAVE IN ITALY. OCT/SUN/92 WAS THE FULL COLOR WKEND AND IT WAS GORGEOUS. I TOOK OFF FROM MT POCONO ARPT, MT POCONO, PA, AND HEADED TOWARD THE ALLENTOWN AREA AFTER CLBING TO 4500 FT, THE ROOF OF THE ALLENTOWN CTL. WE HUNTED ALONG THE RIDGE FOR BEST COLOR TAKING PICTURES. I DIDN'T CONTACT APCH CTL BECAUSE I DIDN'T THINK I WANDERED INTO THE CTL AIRSPACE, SO MUCH WAS OUR INTEREST IN TAKING PICTURES. SINCE THE MOUNTAIN RIDGE IS QUITE A DISTANCE FROM THE AIR PARK, AND SINCE THE SUNDAY AFTERNOON SEEMED FREE OF ANY OTHER PLANES, MY INTEREST WAS MOSTLY WITH HUNTING FOR SPECIAL LEAF COLOR, STILL THINKING I WAS AT PROPER ALT SINCE I DID NOT PURPOSELY GO LOWER. I GOT BACK TO WINGS FIELD WHERE I AM STATIONED AND WAS NOTIFIED ON LNDG THAT I SHOULD CALL THE ALLENTOWN ARPT AND ASK FOR TRACON SUPVR. I DID SO IMMEDIATELY AND WAS ASTOUNDED WHEN TOLD I WAS AT 2800 FT IN THE ALLENTOWN AREA. HE ASKED MY NAME AND ADDRESS AND WOULD WRITE ME. IN AUG/92 MY PLANE WAS BROKEN INTO. BECAUSE OF THE ABOVE ALT ANOMALY, I WILL HAVE MY ALTIMETER CHKED.
