Narrative:

I filed an IFR flight plan from mman to lrd but forgot to put 'request customs' in the comment section and also to call 1 hour before we took off from mman. We are honest, united states citizens, never intent on deceiving our government. We are also human and to err is human. Now it will be harder to forget to call and mark 'request customs' on the flight plan. We are the good guys and I hope they continue to catch the bad guys. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter states once they had landed, customs agent came to aircraft very agitated explaining about the 5000 dollar fine for non compliance. Cursory look at aircraft followed, then agent went to computer and did find the flight plan which he had missed before. Said everything ok. Flight was IFR so in contact at all times, to enter ADIZ.
