Narrative:

Approximately 10 mins after takeoff, erratic engine indications were noted from the right engine. Right engine torque dropped indicating approximately 35% right engine oil psi flucuations between 50-100 psi and a bad pounding noise was heard. After reviewing the erratic engine indications checklists, the engine failure or in- flight shutdown checklist was performed with a shutdown of the right engine. An emergency was declared with a return to iad. Both the single engine and single engine go around checklists were reviewed.
