Narrative:

Descending on cresso arrival into las at approximately 10700 ft approach control started to inform of traffic at our 12 O'clock position at the same time we received TCASII TA immediately followed by a RA informing us to climb. The traffic was at 10400 ft VFR. We did not know whether the traffic was climbing or not so I informed approach that we were climbing to 12000 ft. The controller said we had other traffic at 10 O'clock at 12000 ft. At this point I picked up the 10 O'clock traffic and my first officer picked up the 12 O'clock traffic. We at this point visually had no conflict with either aircraft and at approximately 11700 ft we descended back to 11000 ft with the TCASII still indicating a climb.
