Narrative:

I was working hecoe, aqn and ednas sectors combined. At XX30 local. NAS was shut down and we went to darc/host. I made several keyboard entries after the transition, and at XX38 I observed 2 aircraft converging at FL330. I took immediate action to try to maintain separation. I issued a clearance to air carrier X to turn 45 degree left and air carrier Y to descend to FL240 and expedite through FL310. Air carrier X replied 'say again.' I then told air carrier X to turn 90 degree left and air carrier Y to turn right heading 180. Air carrier Y responding that he was climbing up for traffic. I then asked air carrier Y to say altitude leaving because mode C indicated FL330. Air carrier Y said he was at FL340 descending. At this point, the mode C data and pilot reports and clrncs issued are at such variance with each other that I had to rely on additional pilot reports. To continue an attempt at maintaining separation.

Title: WHILE TRANSITIONING TO DARC, CTLR HAS LTSS WITH 2 ACR'S AT THE SAME ALT.

Narrative: I WAS WORKING HECOE, AQN AND EDNAS SECTORS COMBINED. AT XX30 LCL. NAS WAS SHUT DOWN AND WE WENT TO DARC/HOST. I MADE SEVERAL KEYBOARD ENTRIES AFTER THE TRANSITION, AND AT XX38 I OBSERVED 2 ACFT CONVERGING AT FL330. I TOOK IMMEDIATE ACTION TO TRY TO MAINTAIN SEPARATION. I ISSUED A CLRNC TO ACR X TO TURN 45 DEG L AND ACR Y TO DSND TO FL240 AND EXPEDITE THROUGH FL310. ACR X REPLIED 'SAY AGAIN.' I THEN TOLD ACR X TO TURN 90 DEG L AND ACR Y TO TURN R HDG 180. ACR Y RESPONDING THAT HE WAS CLBING UP FOR TFC. I THEN ASKED ACR Y TO SAY ALT LEAVING BECAUSE MODE C INDICATED FL330. ACR Y SAID HE WAS AT FL340 DSNDING. AT THIS POINT, THE MODE C DATA AND PLT RPTS AND CLRNCS ISSUED ARE AT SUCH VARIANCE WITH EACH OTHER THAT I HAD TO RELY ON ADDITIONAL PLT RPTS. TO CONTINUE AN ATTEMPT AT MAINTAINING SEPARATION.
