Narrative:

Flight scheduled lax-atl. At approximately XX50 Z (6/92) FL330 50- 100 KM north abq turbine air overheat light on pilot's annunciator panel illuminated on 2 engine. Light on so panel did not illuminate. Requested FL260 in anticipation of engine shutdown. Shutdown completed approximately 50 east of abq. Diverted to dfw. Landing dfw uneventful. Did not go back to abq for following reasons: terrain, high airport elevation, crew unfamiliar with airport.
