Narrative:

While departing houston passing FL260, ZHU cleared us to cross FL330 by 35 DME south of shv. About this time we were experiencing very light, occasional rime ice. Anti-ice was turned on slightly reducing thrust available. Leveling at FL330 at 35 DME we encountered mild stall buffet and had to descend to FL322 to increase airspeed and and stabilize the aircraft. We informed center of these actions and were able to avoid any serious conflict. We were later cleared to FL310 until out of the WX and later back to FL350. Most likely a vector would have been our better choice since the aircraft was originally too heavy to meet climb and level off conditions.
