Narrative:

The event was a penetration of restr airspace during a commercial operation. The WX was VMC, and operations were VFR. Upon departure, departure control specified a left downwind departure from mry runway 28L via radar vectors. The destination, salinas is located closely enough to mry to provide a constant though fairly simple pilot workload, gathering ATIS, checklists etc. I departed mry requesting direct sns from departure control. Departure assigned a direct clearance stipulating south of the mry sns highway. While performing all of the required duties (simple pilot operations), the controller radioed my flight and indicated that my flight should remain south and east of the highway. I immediately made a 90 degree turn to clear the area. The controller radioed '...now clearing restr area resume own navigation...' my evaluation of this situation leads me to believe a simple case of fatigue, (mental and physical) as well as operational. Considerations: simple pilot operations, meeting block times etc. Compounded with geographical positioning allowed this occurrence to develop. My techniques have now changed to prioritizing pilot duties. As we have all undoubtedly heard from our primary instructors 'fly the airplane first.' this becomes even more important at the end of a 13 hour duty day and as I found the 7TH leg of a 9 leg day had taken it's toll on my abilities to concentrate. Aside from the regulatory considerations the safety concerns of restr airspace are self evident. Thank goodness this lesson learned allows me to implement new priorities in the days ahead.

Narrative: THE EVENT WAS A PENETRATION OF RESTR AIRSPACE DURING A COMMERCIAL OP. THE WX WAS VMC, AND OPS WERE VFR. UPON DEP, DEP CTL SPECIFIED A L DOWNWIND DEP FROM MRY RWY 28L VIA RADAR VECTORS. THE DEST, SALINAS IS LOCATED CLOSELY ENOUGH TO MRY TO PROVIDE A CONSTANT THOUGH FAIRLY SIMPLE PLT WORKLOAD, GATHERING ATIS, CHKLISTS ETC. I DEPARTED MRY REQUESTING DIRECT SNS FROM DEP CTL. DEP ASSIGNED A DIRECT CLRNC STIPULATING S OF THE MRY SNS HIGHWAY. WHILE PERFORMING ALL OF THE REQUIRED DUTIES (SIMPLE PLT OPS), THE CTLR RADIOED MY FLT AND INDICATED THAT MY FLT SHOULD REMAIN S AND E OF THE HIGHWAY. I IMMEDIATELY MADE A 90 DEG TURN TO CLR THE AREA. THE CTLR RADIOED '...NOW CLRING RESTR AREA RESUME OWN NAV...' MY EVALUATION OF THIS SITUATION LEADS ME TO BELIEVE A SIMPLE CASE OF FATIGUE, (MENTAL AND PHYSICAL) AS WELL AS OPERATIONAL. ASIDE FROM THE REGULATORY CONSIDERATIONS THE SAFETY CONCERNS OF RESTR AIRSPACE ARE SELF EVIDENT. THANK GOODNESS THIS LESSON LEARNED ALLOWS ME TO IMPLEMENT NEW PRIORITIES IN THE DAYS AHEAD.
