Narrative:

Departed cold springs airport on runway 17 -- made left turn to heading 010 degrees, climbed to 11000 ft. TCASII gave us a warning -- also shortly thereafter, a RA to 'climb' along with associated red and green lights on ivsi. We complied with RA and climbed to 11800 ft to avoid conflict. We never saw aircraft and notified controller of near miss. He confirmed that there was a twin engine aircraft at 10500 ft. TCASII showed aircraft approximately 500 ft below us and climbing through our altitude of 11000 ft. Without TCASII issuing the RA, we could have hit that aircraft.
